Thank you so much for sharing your child with me this year. We had a wonderful time learning and growing as readers and writers. Enjoy your summer! First grade is just around the corner. Come by and see me next year in room 113!

Sea Animals

For the last week and a half of school we will be learning about the ocean and animals that live there.  Today we wrote about what sea creature we would be and why? 

Please remind your sweet little ones that we still have a week left of school and that we are going to be here to learn lots in our last week.  Thanks!

My Early Birthday

Thank you so much for all of the beautiful flowers and gifts for my pretend birthday!  The kids were so sweet, they made me lots of sweet pictures today and a couple of the girls even made me a big picture on the smart board.  We are having cupcakes in a few minutes!  YUM!!

Poetry Picnic

This afternoon we had a poetry picnic with all of kindergarten.  The kids got to share their poems with each other and have punch, popsicles and popcorn. 

Happy Cinco de Mayo

The kids did a great job today in the Latin America program.  They all looked so cute too!

Bead Bracelets

In math we made bracelets with pipe cleaners and pony beads.  With our bracelets we practiced figuring out all the different ways to make ten.  This is good practice to do at home.  Give your child a group of objects and tell them to put it into two groups.  Have them figure out all the different ways they can split the group.  Ex:  we had 7 shoes, we put them in a group of 4 and 3, then a group of 5 and 2, then a group of 6 and 1, etc.
