Today we made applesauce. First thing this morning we peeled our apples, sliced them and put them in a crockpot with some cinnamon and made some homemade applesauce. We talked about how apples taste, feel, smell, look and what we hear when we bite into an apple. This afternoon we all tasted it. Most of them liked it.

Measuring and Directional Words
Today we started our discussion about Apples. In Math, we took three apples and kept one whole, peeled one and peeled and sliced another. Then we weighed each one with our pan balance and bear counters. We will weigh the same apples each day to see how their weight changes throughout the week.
We also talked about spatial concepts and directional words. We listened to Rosie's Walk which has lots of directional words, did a Smart Board activity using directional words, placed a color tile on different places when asked and did the cool bear hunt. It was a busy day in Math.
