Art a la Carte

The wonderful Art a la Carte parents came today and did a lesson on color.  We got to mix colors and then paint a picture with the colors we made.   It was great! 

Counting Coins

Today in math we talked about dimes.  We practiced counting them and then we made trades with pennies and dimes. 

Deep in the Heart of Texas!

We began our study of Texas today and our question of the day was "Were you born in Texas?"  Most said yes and some were not sure.  We are making a book of Texas symbols and today we did the Texas flag.  Each day we will add onto the book and we will get to bring it home next week. 

2nd Grade Helpers

Today as an act of kindness, the second graders came to work with us.  They helped us write about different ways to be kind. 

Leading With Love

Today we were promoting our Leading with Love classroom campaign.   The teachers and any students who have given to the cause wore their red shirts to help promote.  If you do not know about the campaign, please ask.  It is on the Grace website and has been in the Gator notes as well.  The classrooms will be amazing if we get the money we need. 

Random Acts of Kindness

This week Grace School is practicing  Random Acts of Kindness.  We will be reading books about kindness, talking about kind words and acts to show kindness.  Please discuss this with your child and look for them to be doing these kind acts at home as well.

Thank you to all the parents who signed up and came to conferences today.  I am blessed to have such a wonderful class.  Don't forget Free Dress tomorrow for the whole school! 

Attribute Block Game

Today we played a game with our attribute blocks.  We used a spinner to see what color and what attribute we got until all of the blocks were gone.  It was a review of their color and shapes.

100 Days of Kindergarten!

We have been so busy today counting to 100 by 1's, 2's, 5's, and 10's. We were silent for 100 seconds, we wrote about 100, we made 100 day hats, we colored a book, counted out 100 things for a snack and made necklaces out of 100 fruit loops.  In P.E. they did 100 jumping jacks.  I don't know about them but I am tired. 

99 Days of School!

The kids are so excited about tomorrow being the 100th day of school.  We have been counting the days!  Thank you for helping them with their projects and sending in items for our snack.  It will be a great day!!

Getting Ready For Valentine's Day!

Wednesday afternoons we are in class all afternoon so today we did some art to decorate our room for Valentine's Day.  They cannot wait until our Valentine party!
